I am incredibly humbled and grateful to have achieved my Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Honours) with a specialism in Internal Audit from both Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU / APIIT) and De Montfort University. I was absolutely stunned when I received the incredible news that I had been selected as the valedictorian for the class of 2024. What an honor it is to not only stand before my fellow graduates, but to also represent my Eritrean heritage with 🇪🇷 shawl on my neck. As the first Eritrean valedictorian at APU, I was filled with gratitude and pride as I delivered my speech, dedicated to the unwavering support of my dad. This moment will forever be etched in my heart. I am immensely thankful to God, my parents, siblings, friends, lecturers, and the APU management for their unwavering support and guidance throughout my academic journey. This achievement is a testament to their belief in me and their dedication to helping me reach my full potential. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey.
