Today marks the last day of ESEA Heritage Month– a time to reflect on the voices and contributions of Southeast and East Asian network members across the UK. We spoke with Shanshan Li , originally from Tianjin, China, and now a Senior Planner at Pegasus Group in Manchester. Shanshan shared how her cultural background shapes her positive outlook on development: “My cultural background encourages me to see development positively and to recognise the economic benefits as well as the life-changing experiences it brings within a couple of generations. This outlook guides my pragmatic and positive approach to work.” Her journey reminds us of the value of bringing diverse perspectives to planning and creating spaces that connect us to our heritage and communities.
