Community practices related to the loss of commemorative trees in Békés County, Hungary Abstract In Békés County, certain trees, often of considerable age, hold significant importance in the local community’s memory. However, due to changes in the landscape, climate change, and other human-induced factors, many of these “living memorials” have recently become threatened, leading to their decline or loss. In response to these challenges, local communities have deve-loped specific measures. At this early stage of my research, I will focus on raising awareness of the issue through examples rather than conducting in-depth analysis."
