I’m excited to share that our research has been published in Molecular Plant Pathology and selected for the Best Student Paper competition. 🏆 Title: Functional Validation of the Melon Fom-1 Gene, Controlling Resistance to Fusarium oxysporum Races 0 and 2, by CRISPR/Cas9 Mutagenesis What started as a question—how do melons resist devastating pathogens?—led us to functionally validate the Fom-1 gene using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. ✔️ Confirmed resistance role against Fusarium oxysporum (races 0 & 2) ✔️ Demonstrated the power of targeted mutagenesis ✔️ Contributed to future disease-resistant crop development This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance of Prof. Rafael Perl-Treves and our team, Dr. Shahar Nizan and Dr. Amalia Bar-Ziv, Elleyana M.Sc, as well as the incredible research environment at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. Grateful, proud, and motivated for what’s next in plant science 🌿 📄 Read more: [link https://lnkd.in/duEMicXi] #PlantScience #CRISPR #GenomeEditing #PlantPathology #ResearchJourney #CropImprovement #Science #Achieveme
