TRADITIONAL EARTHENWARE POT – MANUFACTURING PROCESS & PRODUCTION LINE Overview Traditional earthenware pots are timeless vessels made from natural clay, valued for cooking, storage, and decorative purposes. Their creation blends ancient craftsmanship with modern process optimization, preserving cultural heritage while ensuring durability and functionality. Manufacturing Process & Production Line 1. Clay Selection & Preparation – Locally sourced clay is cleaned, soaked, and kneaded to remove air pockets. 2. Clay Aging – Resting the clay improves plasticity and workability. 3. Shaping – Artisans use a potter’s wheel or hand-coiling to form pot shapes. 4. Detailing – Handles, spouts, and rims are crafted and attached manually. 5. Drying – Pots are sun-dried or air-dried to remove surface moisture. 6. Smoothing & Trimming – Outer surfaces are burnished or smoothed for aesthetic finish. 7. Decoration – Designs are carved, stamped, or painted with natural pigments. 8. Bisque Firing – Low-temperature firing hardens the clay without glazing. 9. Glazing (Optional) – Food-safe glaze is applied for water resistance and shine. 10. Final Firing – Kilns heat pots to 900–1100°C, solidifying structure. 11. Cooling – Gradual cooling prevents cracks and preserves shape. 12. Quality Inspection & Packaging – Finished pots are checked for cracks, glaze defects, and shape consistency.
