What happens after the C-section? The surgery takes about 45 minutes. But for a Nigerian mother, the real challenge begins after she leaves the theatre. Post-cesarean recovery involves wound care, medication management, mental health monitoring, and planning for future pregnancies. It requires consistent follow-up, and that follow-up depends entirely on a hospital’s ability to maintain accurate, accessible patient records. In too many Nigerian facilities, that record is a handwritten sheet in a folder. If the mother changes hospitals, or her doctor is unavailable, her surgical history may not follow her. That’s not negligence. That’s a system that hasn’t been built yet. This Cesarean Awareness Month, we’re thinking about the infrastructure behind maternal care, because good intentions aren’t enough without the right tools. LaFiaLink was built to give hospitals that infrastructure: digital records, post-op scheduling, full HMS integration, and offline capability for facilities still dealing with connectivity gaps. Every mother who survives a C-section deserves a care system that remembers her. If you’re a hospital administrator thinking about how to close these gaps, let’s have that conversation.
