That mindset is one of the many ways our Talent Manager, John Norris, has helped shape the team at Axmed. John joined us after more than a decade in talent acquisition across high-growth startups. What drew him here wasn't just the opportunity to build a company. It was the mission. In his first week, John sat down with our CEO and founder, Emmanuel Akpakwu, and asked him what could cause Axmed to fail. Emmanuel didn't pause: โIf we donโt hire the right people, this business will fail.โ "That conversation has shaped everything I've done here since," says John. "Technical excellence matters. But on its own, it isn't enough. The people who make the biggest impact here are the ones who connect with the mission." That belief has helped John shape a team that has grown from 20 to more than 55 people in just over sixteen months, across countries, functions, and time zones. "Many of our strongest hires came through referrals - because people believed in what we're building," he says. "The mission does the work." Building a remote culture comes with challenges. But for John, the thing that brings people together isn't an office or a location. It's a shared sense of purpose.
