Ten years ago, astronaut Tim Peake CMG orbited Earth 3,000 times and could video call his family once a week from the International Space Station. At MWC26, he stood alongside Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone, to announce that the same kind of connection now works from a standard mobile phone anywhere on earth. Della Valle made the scale of the shift clear, "Our customers don't need to change anything to make this possible. In their pockets, it's the same mobile phone." Vodafone achieved the world's first video satellite call to a normal handset in early 2025, and this week Orange, Telefonica, and Proximus Group joined Vodafone's Satellite Connect Europe platform across 10 markets. The coverage question is being answered, but the commercial question is wide open. Every operator extending reach through satellite faces the same design problem, whether in rural Europe or underserved regions elsewhere: what revenue model applies in areas where coverage previously did not exist? The infrastructure investment pays only when the operator has designed the monetisation model to match it. And that shouldn't be an afterthought. Our team helps operators design the revenue models that turn coverage investment into sustainable growth. The operators who will capture value from satellite coverage are the ones building that model alongside the network, not after it. #AxiomeraPartners #DigitalTransformation #Strategy #MWC26 #MWC #GSMA
