🔥 Last week’s wildfire near Ede showed once again: when wildfires strike, every second counts. In 2024, Dutch firefighters have already received over 166 wildfire reports, many turned out to be false alarms, but each must be taken seriously. Rapid verification is vital, and so is the continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas for fires that haven’t yet been reported. But clear regulations remain essential. Current regulatory blockers around Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights still limit fast and effective deployment in emergency scenarios.
