𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗢₂. For energy-intensive industries, CCUS is becoming an important pathway to reduce emissions where electrification alone is not sufficient. By capturing CO₂ before it enters the atmosphere, companies can take an important step toward more climate-neutral operations. But once CO₂ is captured, another critical factor comes into focus: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗢₂ 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. Impurities such as water, oxygen, sulfur compounds or ammonia can affect safety, efficiency, transport, storage and downstream utilization. Reliable CO₂ stream quality analysis is therefore essential for making CCUS processes work in real industrial applications. This is where AVL contributes: With FTIR-based measurement solutions such as the AVL FTIR C50™ and AVL PA-FTIR C50™, operators can analyze multiple gas components quickly and accurately – supporting safe, efficient and compliant CO₂ handling across CCUS applications.
