For years, transmission testing in Formula 1 has been one of the most demanding validation challenges in motorsport. Increasing power levels, complex hybrid powertrains and the need for absolute reliability leave no room for compromise. To address these challenges, AVL RACETECH developed the š—”š—©š—Ÿ š—£š—æš—¶š—ŗš—² š— š—¼š˜ƒš—²š—æ – a highly specialized test system designed to reproduce realistic operating conditions while combining high power density with exceptionally low rotor inertia. The result is a solution that enables dynamic load simulations for demanding applications such as transmission durability testing, gearshifts, launch simulations and transient load events. And development is continuing: AVL RACETECH is already working on an upgrade to ensure the motor is prepared for potential future regulation changes.
