Working across clay, embroidery, brass and, more recently, tin, Federica Paglia's handcrafted works explore the relationship between gesture, material and form. Through experimentation, she creates vessels and sculptural works that inhabit the threshold between function and poetry. One passage from our conversation particularly stayed with us: "I like to think that those who choose to live with one of my works enter into a quiet, mutual relationship with it."
