Six months of 2026 are almost gone. For most shipowners, that means six months of EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime data are already on the books. Fixed. The question is what happens to the six months still ahead. Because the second half of the year is where the outcome is still in your hands. Your FuelEU compliance balance for 2026 is not decided yet. The fuel you bunker, how you deploy vessels, whether you pool or bank, all of it between now and December still moves the number. Wait until the verifier comes knocking in early 2027 and those levers are gone. Your ETS exposure works differently. You cannot reduce emissions you have already made, but you can stop being surprised by the bill. And the bill is rising: in 2026 you surrender allowances for 70 percent of your emissions, up from 40 percent last year, with full 100 percent coverage landing in 2027. Knowing now what you will owe, and who between owner and charterer actually carries it, is the difference between a managed cost and a shock. That is what a Carbon Compliance Snapshot does. Your fleet, your data, a clear picture of where you stand on FuelEU and ETS, and what the next six months should look like to finish the year in the best position. The first half is written. The second half is still a choice. I work with shipowners and managers on exactly this. If the second half of 2026 feels like a blind spot, let us talk. #FuelEU #EUETS #ShippingDecarbonisation #MaritimeCompliance #Shipowners #ShipManagement #AVCarbon
