The American National Contract for Purpose A Tale of Two Mobilizations: Purpose vs. Extraction The difference between the defining achievements of the mid-20th century and the deindustrialization that has followed isn't about public vs. private. Innovation and creativity are driven by dedicated individuals in every sector. The difference is whether or not we have a North Star—a shared national purpose. In the previous era, a strong, unified nation provided the strategic vision and the keys, mobilizing the private sector for monumental public goals. This wasn't about small-scale projects; national-scale endeavors are not the assembly of startups in garages building social media apps, or even hard projects like autonomous vehicles that have no roads to leverage. They are national programs built by private-sector leadership. INTELLIGENT INFRASTRUCTURE ensures economic development and new careers are developed at the community level. AI Data Centers are critical for the next American Golden Age; they are the 21st-century refineries. Even more critical are Intelligent Infrastructure Economic Zones that provide value to their region, their businesses, and their kids by activating a new class of locally built service providers, founded by local entrepreneurs. Our future generations are digital natives and will leverage INTELLIGENT INFRASTRUCTURE and AI to design and build Intelligent services in our communities. It is just two words: "INTELLIGENT INFRASTRUCTURE": the digital backbone of America’s next economy—without it, autonomy, resilience, and shared prosperity remain just ideas.
