Key industry leaders including BYD, GAC MOTOR, Changan Automobile, YOFC, China Information and Communication Technology Group Co., Ltd., AVIC International Holding Corporation, and Beijing Institute of Technology shared their latest perspectives on the future of automotive networking. 📡 A strong consensus emerged across the industry: as AI-powered autonomous driving, centralized E/E architectures, and intelligent cockpits generate unprecedented data volumes, traditional copper-based networks are approaching their limits. Optical communication is increasingly viewed as a critical enabler for next-generation intelligent vehicles, offering higher bandwidth, lower weight, stronger anti-interference capability, and long-term scalability. Among the key topics discussed were: ▪ Vehicle Passive Optical Networks (V-PON) ▪ All-optical vehicle backbone architectures ▪ Automotive optical components and connectors ▪ High-speed optical communication standards and testing frameworks ▪ The transition from "Copper to Optical" for future SDV architectures As SDV continues to evolve, the development of a robust automotive optical communication ecosystem could become a foundational technology supporting AI-driven mobility, autonomous driving, and next-generation vehicle architectures. #AutomotiveEthernet #OpticalCommunication #VPON #SoftwareDefinedVehicle #SDV #AutonomousDriving #SmartMobility #VehicleNetworking #AutomotiveTechnology #ConnectedVehicles
