We all know businesses on old SAP systems have to move to S/4HANA by December 2027. The ones who started early are fine. They had room to plan, migrate, and test properly. We worry about the ones who haven't started yet. A full migration runs 18 to 36 months. Start now, and you're already pressed against the deadline. So something gets cut. It's almost never the go-live date. It's the testing. And here's the part nobody talks about: a migration can hit the date and still be broken. The system goes live. Dashboards are green. Everyone celebrates. Meanwhile the dirty data you carried over from the old system is sitting quietly inside finance, inventory, and reporting, producing answers that look right and aren't. You don't find it at go-live. You find it months later, in production, when a number doesn't add up. The deadline is the risk everyone sees. The untested data is the one that actually takes you down. The teams that "make it" to 2027 won't be the ones who moved fastest. They'll be the ones who tested what they brought over. If you're migrating, here's the real question: are you testing the deadline, or testing the data?
