After completing the reconstruction of the overpass, we are replacing the road surface on Brovarskyi Avenue in Kyiv. Brovarskyi Avenue is one of the most important arterial roads of the Ukrainian capital, connecting the residential areas of the left bank with the administrative and historic city center. A metro line runs parallel to the avenue. Last year, Automagistral-Pivden completed the reconstruction of the overpass crossing the avenue. The old structure was built in 1963 and had never undergone major repairs. The capital repair project included dismantling and replacing the bridge structures, installing waterproofing and new road pavement, setting up new railings and lighting, creating bicycle lanes, arranging pedestrian areas, and installing ramps for people with reduced mobility. We previously showed how the installation of new steel girders for the superstructure was carried out. https://lnkd.in/dsa5TKc2 At the end of last year, traffic on the new overpass was opened. Currently, we are replacing the asphalt pavement on a section of Brovarskyi Avenue near the overpass. The reason is that during the reconstruction we removed the central support of the overpass, which previously obstructed traffic along the avenue. This allowed for an additional traffic lane. Now there are seven lanes under the overpass instead of six, reducing the risk of accidents and congestion. As a result, we had to install new asphalt concrete pavement along a section approximately 400 meters long. The three-layer pavement meets modern load requirements.
