Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Mark Carney, has concluded his visit to Australia. Together, Prime Minister Albanese and Prime Minister Carney agreed to deepen the partnership between Australia and Canada including to work purposefully on critical minerals and cooperate on economic security, defence climate and emergency management. Leaders also established formal talks between ministers to create pathways for better two-way investment between our countries and strengthen defence collaboration to uphold international peace and security. As two of the world’s major producers of critical minerals, Australia has joined Canada in the G7 Critical Minerals Production Alliance, which aims to strengthen and secure critical minerals supply chains.
