The residential colleges of ANU are a big part of our culture and community as a University. John XXIII College is just one of these colleges with a rich history. To mark fifty years of women at John XXIII College (1976–2026), they've developed a beautiful exhibition: 'Illustra: 50 Women for 50 Years Photo Exhibition'. Illustra honours the stories, impact, and legacy of the women who have shaped our community across generations. Captured by ANU School of Art & Design graduate Bronte Morel, the stunning portraits were taken across Australia and internationally. Each work is paired with a personal reflection, creating a collective narrative of women’s experience, leadership and identity. Following an official opening event, Illustra now holds a permanent place within the College foyer, ensuring that these 50 stories remain a visible and enduring part of daily College life. The wider community are welcome to visit and experience the exhibition firsthand, or you can view it online here: quicklink.anu.edu.au/ropn
