Reserve capability in action 🩺 Exercise Stoic Gauntlet has showcased the vital contribution of #AusAirForce Health Reservists, highlighting the people behind Australia's deployable medical capability. Throughout the exercise, specialist Reservist clinicians – including surgeons, anaesthetists, peri‑operative nurses and critical care experts – played a central role in establishing and operating the field hospital, applying skills gained in high‑tempo civilian hospitals to the deployed environment. Reservists were instrumental in planning, validating and testing the new JP2060‑3 equipment suite, ensuring it was safe, functional and fit‑for‑purpose. Their ability to adapt procedures and equipment during realistic scenarios demonstrated how specialist civilian expertise directly strengthens Defence capability.
