A new milestone for RETORTE — and for Aurubis’ multimetal strategy. With today’s inauguration of a state-of-the-art selenium production facility in Röthenbach a.d. Pegnitz, our subsidiary RETORTE is expanding its global market leadership in high-purity selenium products.  📈 The € 7 million investment — the largest in RETORTE’s history — boosts production capacity by 20 % and strengthens the company’s role as a key player in the international food and pharmaceutical industries. 📜 Certified according to good manufacturing practice standards, the highly automated facility enables RETORTE to supply critical markets with even greater precision, safety, and sustainability.  🌱 The facility also enhances environmental protection and workplace safety through a closed-loop production process and advanced filter technology. 🔄 As part of the Aurubis multimetal material cycle, RETORTE transforms copper co-products into value-added selenium compounds — enabling circular economy solutions with global reach. 🗨️ Steffan Huber, Managing Director of RETORTE: “We are sustainably meeting the stringent standards of the health and wellness sectors while boosting our competitive edge at the same time.
