A stronger voice for Europe's recycling industry. Inge Hofkens, has been elected new President of European Metals, effective July 1. As COO Multimetal Recycling at Aurubis, she represents a business area that is closely linked to recycling, circular value chains, and strategic metals in Europe. She has driven that growth firsthand across major Aurubis recycling projects, including ASPA at Aurubis Beerse, BOB at Aurubis Olen, CRH (Complex Recycling Hamburg), and Aurubis Richmond in the U.S. — the company's first international greenfield project of this kind. For Aurubis, this means a direct voice in shaping the European framework conditions — permitting, secondary raw material rules, energy costs, and the retention of high-value scrap in Europe — that will determine how fast the industry can scale.
