Aurubis Italia is the first site in Italy to receive The Copper Mark — and it marks a major milestone. It is the 8th site operated by Aurubis to successfully complete The Copper Mark assurance process. This milestone completes the awarding of all four of our rod plants – confirming Aurubis’ reliability, resilience and responsibility for our customers worldwide. The site in Avellino produces highly conductive wire rod (Aurubis ROD) that is used as starting material for wire and cables, for a variety of products including wind turbines, electric vehicles, electronics and electricity transmission. The Copper Mark sets a benchmark for responsible sourcing, production, and recycling of copper and other metals, promoting sustainable value chains from mine to end product. We are proud to contribute to this ambition by demonstrating our commitment to sustainable metal production — site by site. With Aurubis Italia now joining the framework, Aurubis continues to strengthen its network of The Copper Mark-awarded sites, covering all primary smelters, the majority of secondary smelters, and now all four rod sites across the Group. Aurubis Italia now joins a global community of more than 130 sites participating in The Copper Mark.
