Today, we are marking 160 years of Aurubis — and the next chapter of Europe's industrial future is built on metals. What began in Hamburg in 1866 as Norddeutsche Affinerie is now an international multimetal company and the world's largest copper recycler. 🔩 From railway networks and electrification to AI data centers, EV charging infrastructure and power grids — metals from Aurubis have enabled industrial progress for generations. 🌍 Since our founding, we have produced around 32 million t of copper — enough to circle the Earth approximately 160 times as a high-voltage copper cable. ⚙️ Today, we recover more than 20 metals and elements from complex input materials, combining primary production with advanced recycling and circular solutions. 👥 Our 7,200 colleagues worldwide are the foundation of this transformation.
