AUNDE GROUP at the CrowdStrike Crowd Tour: When Artificial Intelligence Becomes a Weapon How can we protect ourselves against attacks that are becoming faster and more sophisticated? And what does the future of cybersecurity look like? These were the key questions discussed by our colleague Heiko Stültjens (AUNDE Group SE Head of ITSM, Group Security & Compliance) at the CrowdStrike Crowd Tour on June 9, together with IT security experts from Kühne + Nagel and VARTA. CrowdStrike is one of the world’s leading cybersecurity providers and is also used at AUNDE GROUP to protect our systems and devices against attacks. The event brought together users from various companies across Germany to share practical experiences and insights. AUNDE Group SE participated as a customer voice in the discussion. What was the panel about? The panel was titled “AI as an Attack Vector, SOC Automation & the SOC of the Future.” While this may sound highly technical at first, it ultimately revolves around three key topics that affect all of us. 1. Artificial Intelligence as a New Tool for Attackers Artificial intelligence (AI) helps us in everyday tasks like writing and translating. However, cybercriminals also use these tools. Phishing emails, once easy to spot, can now be generated flawlessly and appear highly convincing—often seeming to come from trusted colleagues or supervisors. With deepfakes, attackers can even imitate voices or videos and carry out attacks faster than ever. This is what is meant by “AI as an attack vector”: AI has become a new entry point for cyberattacks. 2. What is a “SOC”? SOC stands for “Security Operations Center” — the central hub for IT security. It continuously monitors systems and reacts immediately to suspicious activity, similar to an emergency control center. The challenge: enormous data volumes generate thousands of alerts daily. Without efficient filtering, critical incidents could easily be overlooked. 3. Automation and the SOC of the Future This is where SOC automation comes into play. Routine tasks and the filtering of harmless alerts are increasingly handled by technology — often supported by AI. This allows experts to focus on critical cases. The “SOC of the future” is therefore a security center where humans and machines work hand in hand: technology filters and responds in real time, while people make informed decisions and maintain oversight. The discussion at the CrowdStrike Crowd Tour clearly demonstrated that the threat landscape is continuously evolving. Addressing these challenges requires a dynamic combination of technology, expertise and everyday awareness. Only through the intelligent collaboration of people and machines can we meet the growing demands for security and resilience. Stay tuned – in our next post, we will take a closer look at one key question: What does this mean for us at AUNDE Group SE ? #AUNDEGroup #Innovation #CyberSecurity #DigitalResilience #Crowdstrike
