The best safety features are the ones you don't see. For example, our OLED driver display has a camera invisibly integrated under the screen that detects fatigue and distraction before they become dangerous. We know drivers don't like bulky camera modules that feel intrusive. However, acceptance increases when safety technology is invisible. The result: cleaner cockpit designs and safety functions drivers actually use. For the same reason we are working on a non-invasive blood alcohol sensor, together with our partner trinamiX. The sensor uses near-infrared spectroscopy and measures blood alcohol levels by finger touch in seconds. Discretely integrated into the cockpit, it prevents driving under the influence of alcohol while maintaining a clean interior.
