Innovation at Audi starts with the people shaping it. Across the Volkswagen Group, 50 young talents were recognized with the “Best Apprentice Award.” Among them: two #Audi apprentices whose work already reflects where the industry is heading. Their achievements point to a broader shift: as vehicles become increasingly software-defined, the skills required to develop and build them are changing, too. Christoph Schweiger has revitalized a legacy system by turning it into a modern, easy-to-use solution that brings 20+ years of business-critical data back into use. The result is streamlined processes, higher efficiency, and reduced costs. Julian Gräter has expanded his profile beyond automotive mechatronics through in-depth training in Car IT and engineering programs – building expertise at the intersection of vehicle technology and software. At Audi, this means building capabilities early. Programs like Car IT enable young talents to work across disciplines and contribute to software-driven development and production from the start. Technology scales. Capability drives transformation. A huge thank you to Xavier Ros, Andreas Zelzer, Jochen Haberland for making the award ceremony even more memorable.
