⚛️ Marking World Quantum Day this week, we’re spotlighting one of Australia’s leading minds in quantum science, Scientia Professor Michelle Simmons AC FRS FTSE FAA. A Scientia Professor of Quantum Physics at UNSW Sydney, Professor Simmons is a pioneer in atomic electronics and a global leader in quantum computing and information technology. She is Director of the highly successful ARC Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology and is internationally recognised for creating the field of atomic electronics. She also founded Australia’s first quantum computing company, Silicon Quantum Computing, with the goal of building a silicon-based quantum computer. 👩🏽‍🔬 Michelle has pioneered unique technologies globally to build electronic devices at the atomic scale.
