Seven days of learning quantum computing. Day 8 of experiencing it in a different dimension entirely. The Three Week Faculty Bootcamp on Quantum Computing at Atria IT Centre of Excellence in Quantum Computing took an unexpected and genuinely exciting turn today as the session moved from the platform to the immersive world of Extended Reality. Day 8 brought a special guest into the room: Sampath Kumar HK., Co-Founder and Technical Head at BodyClone, whose work spans the medical, automotive, and advanced manufacturing industries and who brought something the bootcamp had not yet seen: a live Virtual Reality demonstration that put faculty inside quantum environments rather than just reading about them. Here is what made today significant. One of the persistent challenges in quantum computing education is visualization. Qubits, superposition, entanglement, and quantum circuits are concepts that live in a mathematical space that human intuition was not built to navigate naturally. Textbooks use diagrams. Lectures use analogies. But neither fully bridges the gap between knowing what superposition is and feeling what it means for a system to exist in multiple states simultaneously. AR and VR change that equation. The session introduced faculty to the full spectrum of Extended Reality technologies and then moved into an immersive VR demonstration where participants stepped into 3D environments and interacted with virtual quantum objects in real time. Qubits on the Bloch Sphere. Quantum circuits as navigable structures. Entangled particles behaving as a unified system across virtual space. The session also covered Virtual Quantum Labs and Digital Twin concepts, the applications of immersive technology across education, research, healthcare, and engineering, and the broader future of how emerging technologies will reshape how complex science is taught and experienced.
