The bottleneck in vaccine development has never been scientific ideas. It has been the cost and friction of moving them through trials. If AI is genuinely reducing failure rates in patient recruitment, data handling, and trial design, the more urgent question is whether those efficiencies will flow toward the threats that carry the heaviest burden but attract the least commercial investment. Efficiency without equity is just faster inequality.
