Yesterday, my advisor Günter Rote had his retirement party (in the academical sense of the word "party"). One of the talks was by Günter M. Ziegler who talked about Superellipses and the Sergels Torg ~square. I was wondering why 2.5 is used in the power... Inspired by Euler's identity I believe that the right parameters of the best superellipse should be: n=e, a=pi and b=phi (Golden ratio).
