Nick Holzherr arrived at Aston University with plans for a corporate career and left with a different vision entirely. At Aston, he found a community of people testing ideas and thinking globally. Through Enactus (then Students in Free Enterprise), he began taking entrepreneurship seriously. What followed was Whisk - born from a student's frustration with learning to cook well and later GitLaw, built to give startups and small businesses affordable access to legal protection. Whisk grew to 500 million monthly users before its acquisition by Samsung. GitLaw is tackling a legal system that prices out the businesses that need it most. Across both ventures, more than 140 people have built careers, including early hires recruited through Jobcentre schemes who gained shares, stability and opportunity. "The future of work is global."
