𝗔*𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗮𝘁 𝟯𝟱: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁   Much has changed since A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics (A*STAR IME) was established in 1991. Semiconductors now power almost every aspect of modern life, from communications and mobility to AI and advanced computing. A*STAR IME’s 35th anniversary offers a timely reminder that the capabilities needed to meet today’s challenges take years to build. They grow through sustained research, successive generations of talent, and partnerships that deepen as technologies and industry needs evolve.   Over the past three and a half decades, A*STAR IME has grown alongside Singapore’s semiconductor ecosystem. It has built capabilities in areas including advanced packaging, silicon photonics, power electronics, MEMS and RF GaN, and worked with industry to move technologies through development, prototyping and validation towards real-world adoption.   Its impact extends beyond individual technologies. A*STAR IME has nurtured researchers and engineers, forged long-term industry partnerships, and anchored research platforms that help Singapore respond to new opportunities across the semiconductor value chain.   As the industry enters its next phase, the capabilities accumulated over 35 years will help Singapore advance more integrated, high-performance and energy-efficient semiconductor systems.   Happy 35th anniversary to our colleagues at A*STAR IME.
