Last week, 𝗔*𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀 (𝗔*𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 𝗜𝗗𝗟) was delighted to host close to 20 Masters students from the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗠𝗦𝗰 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 cohort. 🎓 The visit was organised to complement the students’ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 module, providing insights into 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 and our broader efforts in 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. 🧬🔬 The programme featured a scientific presentation, followed by a panel discussion involving our staff, where they shared their career journeys and perspectives on working in infectious disease research and innovation. Through the engaging interactions, students gained a deeper appreciation of how our 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 underpins the development of 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. Students also had the opportunity to see firsthand the technologies supporting our research, and to better understand how we 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 to support 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 in 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, as well as 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀.
