Prof Nakaya currently serves as Senior Researcher at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and Head of the Computational Systems Biology Laboratory at the USP - Universidade de Sรฃo Paulo. His pioneering work combines ๐๐, ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ผ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ๐, ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ to advance understanding of vaccine responses, infectious diseases, and immune-mediated diseases. During his visit, Prof Nakaya delivered a fascinating talk highlighting the rapidly advancing suite of spatial transcriptomics technologies and how these technologies are transforming our understanding of ๐ต๐ผ๐๐-๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐, ๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐ฒ-๐น๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น ๐ถ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐, and disease biology at unprecedented resolution. The discussions sparked exciting ideas on how these emerging approaches can further support Beyond the seminar, we were especially encouraged by Prof Nakayaโs thoughtful engagement with our ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฉโ๐ฌ๐จโ๐ฌ โ generously sharing perspectives on interdisciplinary science, computational biology, and the future direction of immunity research.
