They are shaped much earlierโby whether organisations have already built the ability to act before ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐. At A*STAR IDL, the focus has been on moving beyond multidisciplinary collaboration as a principle, to making it workable in practiceโacross ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ, ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ๐. Four conditions have proven critical: ๐ง ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ โ preparedness as a core institutional priority, not a project ๐ฉ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ โ infrastructure that reduces friction and speeds up work ๐ฆ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ & ๐๐ฟ๐๐๐ โ durable frameworks that extend beyond individual grants ๐ฅ ๐ง๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐๐ฎ๐๐ โ partnerships that enable expertise to move across boundaries At A*STAR IDL, this work continues through sustained infectious disease research and innovation for pandemic preparednessโ๐ฏ๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ.
