On 3 July 2026, ๐*๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ป๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ (๐*๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐) celebrated our 5th Anniversary with researchers, clinicians, policymakers, industry leaders and global partners united by a shared commitment to advancing infectious disease research and strengthening pandemic preparedness. Our ๐ฑ๐๐ต ๐๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฆ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐๐บ featured leading experts discussing emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, translational research and global preparedness. Their discussions reinforced a common message: preparing for future outbreaks demands scientific excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation. The celebrations concluded with our Gala Dinner, where we were honoured to hear from Professor Lisa F.P. Ng (ED A*STAR IDL), Dr Lisa Ooi (ACE A*STAR BMRC) and our distinguished keynote speaker Professor Sir Peter Piot, whose lifelong contributions to global health continue to inspire the scientific community. We were also privileged to hear reflections from Professor Linfa Wang (PREPARE), Professor Jod Mehta (Singapore National Eye Centre), Professor Kah-Leong Lim (Nanyang Technological University Singapore) and Dr Amadou Sall [CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations)], who emphasised the critical role of partnerships in advancing research and preparedness. A special highlight was the premiere of our 5th Anniversary commemorative video, featuring messages from Professor Chorh Chuan Tan (Chairman, A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research), Professor Vernon Lee [Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA)], Adjunct Associate Professor Shawn Vasoo [National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID)], Dr Yi-Ching Lynn Ho (Temasek Foundation) and many other partners who have supported our journey. Over the past five years, ๐*๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ has built integrated capabilities spanning pathogen biology and evolution, infection and immunity, and high-containment science towards translational and clinical outcomes to support public health, including preparedness and outbreak response. More importantly, we have built partnerships that translate research into real-world impact for Singapore and beyond. ๐ง๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ธ ๐๐ผ๐ to every collaborator, partner and member of the ๐*๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ย who has been part of this journey. ๐ฝ๏ธWatch our 5th anniversary commemorative video here: https://lnkd.in/gAXba8rj #ASTAR #ASTARIDL #InfectiousDiseases #PandemicPreparedness #GlobalHealth #ScientificResearch #Innovation #Collaboration #TranslationalResearch #PublicHealth
