Fungal infections is an underappreciated public health threat. Of note, one of the greater concerns of antifungal resistance is the use of fungicides sharing similar targets with antifungals used to treat human infections. Fungi evolve resistance to fungicides, which might contribute to #AntifungalResistance, further limiting the repertoire of antifungals that can be used to combat invasive fungal infections.   To tackle this potential threat, collaboration between academia, clinicians and industry partners is paramount. On behalf of the organising committee co-chairs, Prof Wang Yue (A*STAR IDL, Singapore) and Prof Christophe d'Enfert (Institut Pasteur, France), A*STAR IDL is proud to have recently co-organised the Emerging Fungal Infections Symposium - Understanding and Confronting Fungal Infections - an Underappreciated Public Health Threat, with Institut Pasteur, National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS), and in close partnership with Temasek Foundation.
