ID Labs had the privilege of hosting the esteemed Prof. Robin Patel of Mayo Clinic at A*STAR, in collaboration with our partners from NCID, Dr. Shawn Vasoo and Dr. Clement Tsui. The enriching half-day engagement sessions kickstarted with scientific sharings from the brilliant minds in ID Labs on key areas such as understanding the Asian phenotype of antimicrobial resistance, microbiome and impactful strategies to combat global public health threats in the field of tropical infectious diseases. Wrapping up the program, Prof. Patel shared some of her group’s innovations in areas such as clinical bacteriology diagnostic testing, antimicrobial resistance, and addressing clinical challenges related to periprosthetic joint infections. Her profound dedication and commitment to improving patient outcomes were both enlightening and inspiring!
