Last week, Saraid Billiards, AAMRI CEO, and Sharon Webb, AAMRI WA Executive Officer, joined AAMRI WA member institutes and sector colleagues at the launch of the SMARTT Parliamentary Friends Group in Western Australia. AAMRI WA was proud to co-sponsor the launch alongside the Forrest Foundation, supporting stronger collaboration between government, research and industry. The establishment of SMARTT reflects the importance of aligning research capability with industry and policy to strengthen Western Australia’s competitiveness in emerging sectors and accelerate the translation of research into real-world impact. AAMRI WA continues to advocate for long-term policy and funding settings that build research capacity, support workforce development, and ensure Western Australia remains globally competitive in medical research and innovation.
