ASM Affiliates Helps Recognize Los Angeles County’s First Historic District. We’re proud to share that ASM Affiliates played a key role in the evaluation and documentation of the Historic Highlands neighborhood in Altadena, California. Through reconnaissance and intensive-level historic resource surveys, ASM provided recommendations for district boundaries, the period of significance, and contributing historic properties—work that helped support the designation of the Historic Highlands Historic District, now recognized as Los Angeles County’s first historic district. This milestone helps preserve one of Altadena’s most intact collections of early 20th-century residential architecture and highlights the importance of protecting the cultural and architectural heritage that defines Southern California communities.
