I help importers and exporters ($5M-$50M) get funded when banks say no. | Follow for lessons from both sides of the trade finance gap.
SWIFT is not slow anymore. Your supplier still waited three days. Both things are true. SWIFT gpi moves most payments to the beneficiary bank within the hour. Nearly all arrive within 24 hours. That is SWIFT's own data. So where did your three days go? The last leg. The receiving bank's crediting process, compliance review, cutoff times, weekends, capital controls. The BIS studied gpi data and found the same thing. Speed dies at the edges, not in the middle. This is why new settlement rails matter. They do not just move faster through the middle. They skip the queue at both ends and settle any hour, any day. The product is not speed. It is certainty. Where did your last late payment actually stall?
