Nuffield College's Centre for Social Investigation, University of Oxford, made over 3,000 fake job applications. All of the fake candidates had identical CVs and covering letters, were British citizens or had moved to the UK by the age of six. The study's results reveal that in modern day Britain, those with ethnic minority backgrounds need to send 60% more job applications to get a positive response compared to their white counterparts.
