Monitoring requirements in marine construction permits to ensure the protection of marine species are becoming common practice. The necessity of sturgeon surveys and monitoring is especially becoming more frequent within the south coast of British Columbia during construction activity. ASI Marine conducts underwater surveys, like the one we conducted at the Hugh Keenleyside Dam near Castlegar, BC. Throughout the inspection, numerous White Sturgeon were observed in the spillway and we were commissioned to provide further biomonitoring to include range, habitat locations and physical characteristics.
