🌾 Rice farming is vital to rural livelihoods in Indonesia, but it depends heavily on reliable water supply. For many farmers, inefficient irrigation systems can lead to lower harvests and unstable incomes. To help address this challenge, AIIB invested USD250 million to modernize irrigation systems across the country. The project has improved water management over 274,000 hectares of farmland, making irrigation more efficient and reliable for 857,763 farming households. With agriculture employing around 30% of the workforce, these improvements are helping farmers achieve better harvests and strengthen their incomes.
