Very Important Final Reminder to Victorian Security Industry Operators! Current Victorian Security Business Registration and Individual Registration holders – the 19 June 2026 deadline impacts you – Act Now! As we have previously communicated, if, as a business or individual, you provide security services in Victoria as a security equipment installer or security adviser, this applies to you. Unless you have already done so, all current Business Registrations and Individual Registrations must transition to a licence by 19 June 2026. No one is exempt. Transitioning a Registration to a licence requires fingerprint and criminal history–probity checks in support of the transition application. This takes time to arrange. Business and individual registration holders must submit their transition licence applications by 19 June 2026, regardless of the expiry date shown on their current business or individual registration. IF YOU LODGE YOUR TRANSITION APPLICATION WITH VICTORIA POLICE BY 11:59 PM ON 19 JUNE 2026 • Your registration will be treated as a renewal allowing you to continue to legally undertake your registered security activities while your transition application is being assessed. Remember to keep a copy of your application receipt in a safe place as proof that your transition application was submitted before tomorrow. IF YOU FAIL TO LODGE YOUR TRANSITION APPLICATION WITH VICTORIA POLICE BY 11:59 PM ON 19 JUNE 2026 • You will be operating illegally if you continue to undertake security activities that require a security licence to be held. • You will be required to lodge a new licence application for the required security activities of a security equipment installer and/or security advisor. Until this application is assessed (which could take months) you will not be able to operate legally. This is your final chance, so you need to act now!
