Make sense 😅 Many times the problem in the projects is not a lack of ideas. It is a lack of understanding of how systems actually work. I recently saw a proposed visual showing the Strait of Hormuz being blocked. The proposed “Solution” was simple: unload oil on one side, move it by trucks across land then load it back onto ships. On paper it sounds creative. In reality it ignores logistics, cost, infrastructure, scale and operational complexity. This is exactly what sometimes happens in technology projects. A new non-technical manager joins a data or engineering team and quickly proposes solutions without understanding: • System architecture • Data pipelines and dependencies • Infrastructure limitations • Cost implications • Operational constraints Ideas are valuable. But context and technical depth are what make ideas practical. The best outcomes happen when: • Managers understand the technical landscape • Engineers clearly explain constraints • Decisions are made with both business and technical perspectives Good leadership is not about proposing more solutions. It is about proposing feasible solutions.
