Judgment. Data. Listening. Three key lessons from Bridgit O'Donovan, Hsien-Hsien Lei, and Khushil Vaswani this morning in Singapore, where Zeno Group and Earned First convened 15 in-house comms leaders for a breakfast roundtable that examined what it means to lead comms when narratives are now co-authored by algorithms, activists, employees, AI summaries, and geopolitical context, often faster than organisations can respond. A few things that came up, based on Zeno's Clarity 2030 research findings: ❗️Every generation has faced message discipline challenges. The differences now are speed, fragmentation, and the overwhelming sense of 'permacrisis' 🧩 The prediction a decade ago was full integration of communications and marketing, but the pendulum has swung back towards corporate and public affairs as standalone functions. 🇺🇸 Even relatively small decisions, such as which events to attend and where to direct sponsorships, now carry geopolitical implications. Many organisations don't have a plan for this. 🧰 The employee toolkit era is over. Personal accounts and corporate reputation are increasingly blurred, while corporate leaders are often using AI to accelerate quantity over quality. A big thank you to everyone that attended for their candour and insight. Full feature to follow later this week, while PRAXIS Asia-Pacific returns to explore these themes in greater detail on 7 October at Singapore's National Gallery.
