Aileen Naef came to Switzerland after her Bachelors in neuroscience from the University of Calgary for a master's in bioengineering at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). For her PhD at ARTORG, the Swiss-Canadian focuses on detection, prevention and treatment strategies against #delirium in hospital #criticalcare units using #machinelearning and #virtualreality. Aileen loves the mix of professions at ARTORG: “We work in such multidisciplinary fields, where people come from a lot of different backgrounds – mathematics, software engineering, biology, physics… This makes you see that a problem can be looked at in various ways and also gives you the resources to address all those different angles.” #ARTORGdiversity #bettertogether #diversity #womenintech #biomedicalengineering
