For generations, Black players, supporters and communities have helped shape Arsenal's identity. ย Last night we celebrated the launch of a dedicated new Arsenal installation with a special panel at UCL East as part of โThe Music is Black: A British Storyโ Festival, exploring the club's enduring relationship with Black culture, music and community. ย Hosted by Academic-in-Residence Dr Clive Nwonka, the evening brought together voices from football, music, fashion and academia, celebrating the communities whose passion, creativity and support are central to the club's identity and success. A panel chaired by former Olympian and broadcaster Jeanette Kwakye MBE featured Arsenal legend Anita Asante, LABRUM London founder Foday Dumbuya, who designed our 2024/25 Africa-inspired away kit, and Ghanaian-British afrobeats producer, DJ and musician, Juls, who composed the music for the kitโs launch film. ย In a week in which we continue to reflect on our historic Premier League winning season, the installation is a timely recognition of Black Arsenal's legacy and its role in shaping not only a winning team, but a winning community. ย Read more ๐ https://lnkd.in/e-8h5k2d
